Just about 30 minutes from Kvarnviks Gård, you’ll find the charming Hallongården near Bodarp – a farm that’s truly a gem for families with young children. We spent the day there with Henri and Hauke, and we can wholeheartedly recommend it.
Raspberry Picking – Rain or Shine
The highlight was definitely picking fresh raspberries. The bushes are grown under a large transparent greenhouse cover, so even in poor weather, it’s dry, bright, and pleasant. Henri and Hauke were thrilled – they picked berries with their little hands, snacked on a few, and ran laughing between the rows.
It was a perfect moment: outdoors, relaxed, and hands-on – one of those small adventures that feel special simply because they’re shared.
A Cozy Café and Local Delicacies
After picking, we took a break at the farm café. They serve delicious waffles, cakes, light lunches, and of course, raspberry ice cream. Everything is fresh and homemade, served in a cozy, Scandinavian-style setting.
We also browsed the farm shop, which offers homemade jam, syrups, and freshly picked berries.

Friendly Animals and Curious Kids
Henri and Hauke loved meeting the goats and sheep on the farm. They stood quietly watching them nibble at branches and nudge each other playfully. It’s these simple, real-life encounters that often leave the biggest impression on little ones.
Worth a Visit in Autumn and Winter Too
One of the things we love about Hallongården is that it has something to offer all year round.
In autumn, the focus shifts to pumpkins – the café serves seasonal dishes, the farm is decorated in fall colors, and there are cozy waffle weekends and farm markets.
In winter, it becomes a peaceful holiday retreat with Advent weekends, homemade Christmas goods, candle making, and warm drinks like glögg. The café is filled with the scent of fresh cookies and lit by soft lights – perfect for a relaxed family afternoon.

Hallongården is a warm and welcoming place – weatherproof, hands-on, and full of small joys. For families staying at Kvarnviks Gård, it’s a perfect half-day trip. We had a wonderful time and are already planning to go back soon.
