A Day Trip to Beddingestrand Beach

Just 2.5 km from our farm

The sandy beach of Beddingestrand is only about 2.5 kilometers from our farm. We usually go there by bike – it takes around 10 minutes. On foot, it’s a pleasant 30-minute walk across open fields. A simple, quiet route that leads straight to the sea.

A beach for everyone – calm, child-friendly, and spacious

The beach is about 300 meters long and up to 30 meters wide. The sand is fine and white, the water shallow – ideal for children and beach lovers who want to relax. There’s a small jetty for jumping into the water. Toilets are available directly on-site.

Everything you need nearby

Just 500 meters from the beach, you’ll find a campsite with a small kiosk for snacks and drinks. There are also restaurants and an ice cream shop nearby. A grocery store is within walking distance, perfect for picking up supplies for a full day at the beach.

Also interesting: local history and surroundings

Beddingestrand started growing as a fishing village in the early 18th century. Some of the original flint stone cottages are still standing. In the 20th century, the area developed into a summer holiday spot with a campground, tennis courts, and a golf course. A summer restaurant and dance venue called “Pärlan” was popular in the 1980s.

Today, about 1,200 people live in Beddingestrand year-round. In 2014, a new swimming pier was built, enjoyed by both locals and visitors.

Our tip: Combine with a visit to Smygehuk

The beach trip pairs well with an outing to Smygehuk – the southernmost point of Sweden. There you can enjoy the coastal scenery and visit the historic Köpmansmagasinet, once a pirate hideout, now home to art and cultural exhibitions. Sweden’s southernmost “Allsång” singalong event is also held here every year.
